Megger MIT525

egger’s new range of d.c. insulation testers, MIT515, MIT525, MIT1025 and MIT1525 are targeted at original equipment manufacturers and industrial companies. The top of the range MIT1525 performs insulation resistance tests up to 15 kV with a 30 TΩ maximum resistance and an accuracy of ±5 % from 1 MΩ up to 3 TΩ. The MIT515 offers IR, DAR and PI functions but has no memory functionality. MIT525, MIT1025 and MIT1525 have a full suite of test modes as well as on-board memory and the ability to stream data / download data to a PC / laptop. Instrument productivity is a focus of the new MIT range, which offers rapid charge batteries and operation from an a.c. source if the batteries are flat. Rapid charge batteries enable > 60 minutes testing after a 30 minute charge.

Offering CAT IV 600 V, the Megger MIT525 is a compact, light 5 kV insulation resistance tester for the diagnostic testing and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment. Enclosed in a tough case it is both smaller and lighter than its predecessor making it even easier to carry and store.

As well as measuring insulation resistance to 10 Teraohms, the MIT525 also offers various diagnostic tests such as Polarization index, Dielectric Absorption Ratio, Step Voltage, Dielectric discharge and ramp testing.

Now equipped with a lithium ion fast rechargeable battery, the MIT525 has a large, clear, easy to read, display making it equally suitable for use in both bright sunlight and poorly lit environments. Information displayed includes resistance, voltage, leakage current, capacitance, battery status and time constant. In addition, the elapsed time of the test is displayed constantly removing the need for separate timer.
